Bernie Hackett, April 2025

Bernie has dedicated over 40 years to the fields of counselling, clinical supervision, and the training of future professionals. Throughout her distinguished career, she has consistently earned the highest praise and admiration from both colleagues and students for the exceptional quality of her work.

Her deep clinical expertise, sound judgment, and unwavering ability to build strong, trusting relationships within her profession have left a lasting impact. Bernie's commitment to fostering growth and learning in others, coupled with her empathetic and insightful approach, has set her apart as a highly respected figure in her field. Her influence extends not only through her direct work but also through the legacy she continues to build by shaping and mentoring the next generation of professionals.

Bernie has made significant contributions to the organization, initially serving on the Complaints Committee before taking on the role of Chair of that Committee. Additionally, she was an active member and later Chair of the Supervision Committee, as well as Chair of the Supervisor's Forum Organizing Committee.

Bernie also served on the Board of IACP, ultimately being elected to the position of Chair. Her unwavering dedication and commitment to her roles have consistently demonstrated her professionalism, resulting in impressive outcomes. Furthermore, she has served as a highly positive and influential representative of IACP.
