As the official publication of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, the IJCP provides a platform for insightful research, practitioner perspectives, and thought-provoking discussions in the field.

The Irish Journal for Counselling & Psychotherapy is embarking on an exciting new phase. The journal is currently a hybrid model, functioning as part academic journal and part membership magazine. Beginning sometime in 2027, the journal will be split to create two separate and distinct publications for members.

The IJCP will become a fully academic peer reviewed journal representing our values and will position the IACP as a thought leader within the counselling and psychotherapy profession both nationally and internationally.

All of the popular Noticeboard items, photos, events, and committee updates will feature in a new Member Magazine. The new publications will strengthen member engagement, building upon our strong community, and professional identity.

To help facilitate the transition to the new publications the IJCP will not publish an Autumn edition this year. Instead, we will use this time to prepare a celebratory combined Autumn/Winter edition, to arrive in December.

Accordingly, we will notify members when we are taking submissions again.
