SRC - Online Transgender Awareness Training


Presenters Bio:

Dr Vanessa Lacey has worked with TENI since 2010 and is currently Health and Education Manager with responsibility for designing and delivering Transgender Awareness Training to Health Professionals across Ireland. Vanessa created the family support group TransParenCl in 2011 which supports over 280 families. Her PhD research focused on grief and loss experienced in the context of gender transition by adult Trans women and their families. Vanessa is a published author, is a member of many national and regional committees and the World Professional Association of Transgender Healthcare.


Workshop Outline: 

The aim is to enable participants to develop their foundation knowledge, skills and comfort levels in relation to gender identity and expression. Due to the complex nature of the training, it is delivered over two separate days to allow for reflective learning. Day 1 incorporates small group work (your own experience), Transgender identities, Exercise, Trans experiences and Healthcare Pathways. Day 2 incorporates Medical and psychological interventions, Families experiences, Case Studies and Final discussion.


CPD Certs will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop
