Guest Speaker - Michael O Carroll

The concept of working with clients online has been around for many decades however in recent times the fact that so much of our lives is connected online, along with modern technology being so commonplace, has led to a greater desire among clients and therapists to explore an online alternative to traditional therapy.

This short presentation will cover areas such as -

  • Types of Online Therapy
  • Efficacy Levels
  • Advantages and Risks of Working Online
  • Legal an Ethical Considerations
  • Recent Developments in the Field

Presenters Bio: Michael is an IACP member and runs a private therapy practice in Nenagh Co. Tipperary, he works with face to face and online clients having undertaken BACP endorsed training in online counselling. Michael developed the course 'Introduction to Working as a Therapist Online' which can be taken online through www.therapyacademy.ie , a CPD learning platform he developed. He is also developing a simple client management system for therapists called TherapyHub at www.therapyhub.ie launching in early 2018
