Presenter's Bio:

Jude identifies as NeuroDistinct with traits of Autism & ADHD. A former social worker specialising in mental health and primary care and a best-selling author of 4 books, namely Loving Your Place on the Spectrum & Why Does Daddy Always Look So Sad? Jude was a non-verbal child until he was 7 years old. 

As the CEO & Founder of Neurodiversity Training International, He has delivered refreshing keynote speeches, training, workshops and collaborated with Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, tech startups, conferences, expos, government agencies, policy makers, charities, churches, community & parents groups, schools, health boards, events showcasing how neurodistinct individuals can thrive at work, at school, and in life. His lived experience, social worker background and practicing in the mental health sphere for eight years gives him an unique perspective to fostering NeuroInclusivity culture throughout various organisations. The leadership team of Neurodiversity Training International has designed and implemented innovative programmes delivering outstanding  growth and positive results. 


Event Outline: 

This workshop will consist of an honest, direct, funny, refreshing and memorable opportunity to further enhance your understanding of and responsiveness to NeuroDistinct individuals in the context of counselling and psychotherapy.

Though his own lived experience Jude will support participants to safety reflect on their beliefs, awareness, language, assumptions, misconceptions and stigma. Participants will have an opportunity to consider current practice while enhancing their ability to create psychological safety for NeuroDistinct individuals. NIRC Training Needs Analysis: Presentation on members’ responses to the NIRC Training Needs Analysis completed in February 20253. NIRC Committee update: to include an update from IACP national perspective, NIRC renewed committee perspective and an opportunity for members to offer feedback for committee consideration.
