NIRC - The Role of the Will, a key contribution of Psychosynthesis to the clinical context

Presenters Bio:

Gertrude Gill, PhD. MUKCP, EMCC (snr Practitioner), has been working in community, education and corporate settings over the past 30 years. She is an accredited Psychosynthesis Psychotherapist, Supervisor, Trainer, Wellbeing Coach, 5DL Leadership and Organisational Coach . She is a Supervisor and Marker with the Institute of Psychosynthesis and has lectured in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy at ICPPD Holistic and Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling training College.

Workshop Outline:

This workshop is for Counsellors/Psychotherapists/ Coaches and is an introduction to the Psychosynthesis model for some and a deepening of knowledge for others at the level of stages of the Will and the therapeutic intervention. It will be an exploration of the psychospiritual context in terms of understanding the role of the Will in psychosynthesis psychology and psychotherapy as an expression of Self.

The first stage is the realisation that ‘I have a will’:  identifying the inhibitive maintaining cycles and ego identifications / wilfulness that is blocking one’s ability to discern the movement of their agency within. Then to learn how to say their ‘yes’ to their true self and thereby thrive rather than just survive -living life to the full.

Psychosynthesis Psychology highlights the sovereignty of the Will as its purpose is to direct and regulate all the psychological activities and energies of the person without repressing any of them.
