IACP Members' Survey Launch 2018 [19/02/2019]

Research reveals a 96% job satisfaction rate among counsellors and psychotherapists.

The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) launched the results of its 2018 members’ survey on the 13^th of February in the Mansion House. The purpose of the research is to gauge members’ current experiences within the profession and to further understand how the IACP can support members in the future. The response to the survey was unprecedented with 1,076 members completing it – more than a quarter of the IACP membership. Mr Ray Henry, IACP Chair said, “The fact that more than a quarter of our members completed the survey is very encouraging and is commended.” The Association engaged Behaviour & Attitudes to administer the collection and analysis of survey responses and to present the findings internally. These findings will today be shared by IACP Research Officer Dr Ellen Kelly. Dr Kelly has produced a summary report for the launch and she led attendees through the findings in all areas. Dr Kelly’s presentation was followed by presentations by Dr Marcella Finnerty on “Pluralistic Therapy for Anxious Children – An Outcome Study” and Dr Finian Fallon on “GARDA Representative Association Wellbeing Survey Results (2018)”.

IACP Chief Executive, Lisa Molloy said, “These survey results will help IACP better understand the expectations and needs of the membership to ensure that we continue to provide high quality and relevant benefits and services.”
