Presenters Bio:

A little about me....

Hello, my name is Eamonn and I have been working as a counsellor for around 6 years.  I have a keen interest in health from the holistic to the deep workings of one's psyche. The human mind has always intrigued me and continues to do so in my work. What makes the work so interesting for me is the differences between individuals, be it big or small in the way we process the world around us and how we choose to live our lives, the processes behind our thoughts and actions and the feelings that rise and fall, forever interconnected to everything we think and do.

Before I dipped my toe into counselling, I trained in psychology for four years and after careful consideration I found my compass pointing down the counselling route.

While in college, to support myself,  I worked in the health food industry. Along with successfully attaining a certificate in nutrition while working in the area, this experience has given me a deep awareness and understanding of the importance of diet and exercise when it comes to both mental health and physical well-being.

Currently, I am looking at further developing my skill set and presently my interests are manoeuvring towards a Masters in Cognitive behavioural therapy and motivation interviewing. I find that gaining knowledge is like a wet stone that keeps my skills sharp and regularly engaged in continuous professional development (CPD).
