Introduction to EMDR

Presenter Bio: Gus Murray has been programme Director and Lecturer in CIT for over 25 years.He is an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner, Consultant and Trainer. He is an Integerative Psychotherapist accredited with the IACP. He is coordinating the development of EMDR in the Republic of Ireland.

Outline: This workshop aims to provide participants with an initial introduction to the principals and practises of Eye Movement Desentisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Learning outcomes include: Learning how traumatic and other disturbing experiences are encoded in the brain and the body and how they intrude on current functioning; Why 'talk therapy' alone is limited in its capacity to access and resolve these memories; How EMDR therapy can facilitate the effective processing of traumatic or disturbing life experiences to an adaptive resolution.

Training Level: All Levels.

 

CPD certificates will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop.
