Working with Lesbian and Gay People

 

Presenter Bio: Stephen Vaughan works as a Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer and has completed a Masters Thesis on working with Lesbian and Gay clients

Outline: 

Main focus will be on helping therapists to understand better different aspects of working with LGB clients as shown in research. This includes having a clear understanding of modern frameworks of sexuality and to have a clear understanding of the coming out process and to have familiarity with a model of 'coming out'. Workshop is also intended to demonstrate an understanding of what is homophobia and internalised homophobia and to develope an affirmative psycotherapeutic approach to working with LGB clients

Training Level: Advanced 

CPD certificates will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop.
