"Helping Clients Recover From
Narcissistic Abuse” 


Presenter Bio
:  Dr Denise Mullen (Psy.D, MIACP) is a consultant psychologist with experience in a wide range of settings including individual and group therapy, in-patient treatment, university lecturing and workshop presentations. She has studied extensively in the areas of psychodynamic and object relations theories, developmental psychology and attachment theory. With 25 years combined clinical practice experience, in both California and Ireland, Dr Mullen recognises the need for therapist collaboration. 

Outline: The workshop will begin with an overview of the Cluster B Category of Personality Disorders, Antisocial, Borderline, Histrionic & Narcissistic. The primary emphasis will be on Narcissistic Personality Disorder & Antisocial Personality Disorder. Covert verses overt narcissism. What are the repetitive tactics of narcissistic abusers? Targeting, grooming & brainwashing. How do we help our clients recover? Working towards breaking secrecy, separating from the abuser's voice & message, regaining the lost self, boundary work, finding their voice & building a supportive network of friends. Looking at our own narcissism and our entitlement issues. Periodically throughout the day there will be opportunities for questions and answers, in addition to dyadic & small group work with vignettes.

Training Level: Intermediate

CPD certificates will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop.
