Presenter Bio: Kevin was born in Lurgan, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. Kevin graduated from UCC with H.Dip in Gestalt Therapy and post Grad in H.Dip in Integrative Psychotherapy Studies. He continued his training with Gestalt Associate Los Angeles (G.A.T.L.A.) becoming a certified Gestalt Therapist, joining the faculty in 2011. Kevin travels extensively lecturing in Gestalt Therapy,both in Ireland and abroad, and is a visting lecturer at several Gestalt Institutes. He is an Accredited Supervisor and has 30 years in third level education and training. Kevin is an Accredited Member of IACP and former chairperson of the Irish Gestalt Society. As well as lecturing and running workshops Kevin also runs a private practice for individuals and couples. He is co-founder of the Irish Gestalt Training Institute, which offers postgradute in training in Gestalt Therapy.
Outline:
Morning session: Definition of Sexual addiction and "Sexting". Dignostic Criteria for sexual addiction, outline of the sexual addiction cycle, signs and sexual addiction behaviour. Types of Sexual Complusive behaviour. Possible levels of sexual addiction (important for case workers to be aware of the incremental changes).
Afternoon session: Sexual addiction and intimacy (disconnection issues to be addressed). Arising issues for therapists when a sexual addiction diagnostic has been made (i.e. legal, social, health and confidentiality). Co-transferential issues, support systems and referrals, suggested reading and reserach material for futher investigation. Questions and Answers.
